new year, new craft

I have had a tough time motivating to knit this new year. I've been quilting instead. I have a new project going which I started over the holidays which is much more interesting to me...unfortunately, it's a gift for someone who occasionally reads my blog, so I can't post pictures of the WIP. But here's some of the fabric I'm using for it.

Not such a failure, after all...

Though my February lady sweater did shrink a bit when it finished drying, it still seemed awful big to me. But I decided I had to wear this sweater at least once before stuffing it in my closet to languish in baggy frumpiness. However, I was pleasantly surprised because I got lots of compliments on the day I wore it. So I actually took it with me on my winter vacation and wore it about 5 times. I may never wear it again, but hopefully 4 months of knitting that thing wasn't a complete waste of time.
